Natural disasters are impacting communities across the country, including severe weather and flooding in Hawaii, Indiana, and Tennessee, and more than 200 wildfires burning throughout the West. As needs continue to grow in multiple regions, we're expanding this giving opportunity to support natural disaster relief efforts nationwide, helping communities respond, recover, and rebuild.
The American Red Cross is working closely with these affected communities to coordinate emergency relief efforts and get help to people as quickly as possible. Teams are on the ground to provide those affected with a safe place to stay, food to eat, and emotional support during this challenging time. Red Cross teams are also preparing to assist with damage assessment once communities have stabilized.
Donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small, whenever and wherever they occur across the country.
Other ways to help:
- Donate blood. There's currently a national blood donation crisis and demand surges whenever there's a disaster like this one. Donate through the Red Cross or other non-profit blood donation site in your community.
- Provide vision care. Support someone who's lost or damaged their eyewear due to disaster by requesting a HELP Gift Certificate through Eyes of Hope. VSP Vision employees can request up to three (3) per year.
- Feed the community. Donate to support World Central Kitchen's response to these disasters.
